Who We Are

PSYCHOGNOSIA is a privately-funded, not-for-profit centre for the dissemination of reliable information on the scientific study of anomalous phenomena (parapsychology), consciousness studies and related areas.  Topics of interest include reincarnation, past-life memories, poltergeist & haunting phenomena, mediumship, extra sensory perception (ESP), altered states of consciousness, out-of-body (OBE) & near-death (NDE) experiences, psychokinesis (PK), "intentional"  healing; clairaudience and consciousness generally. Co-directors, John Knowles, M.A., and Linda Leblanc studied at the Institute for Parapsychology (Rhine Research Center), Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A.   Leblanc is an accredited Gateway Outreach and Residential Trainer of The Monroe Institute whose founder Robert Monroe developed the world-renowned Hemi-Sync® sound patterns that facilitate hemispheric synchronization of the brain.

Where We Are

Paphos is on the Eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The Republic of Cyprus is unique as the crossroads of the Middle East and Europe, while sharing the characteristics of both. Rich in ancient history and
archaeological remains, Paphos is the mythological birthplace of the
Goddess Aphrodite (Venus). Cicero was Roman Governor of Cyprus based in Paphos, which was also visited by Saint Paul.

What We Do

The public is frequently misled by biased, often skeptical, "debunking" news items or sensationalist media headlines that misrepresent the paranormal.  Many current materialist, reductionist beliefs about the nature of reality are not compatible with psychic phenomena that clearly seem to transcend time and space. We believe that greater comprehension of psychic events will lead to a higher level of understanding of the nature of the universe and humanity's place in it.

PSYCHOGNOSIA : 
  Acts as a focal point for dissemination of valid, reliable information on psychic phenomena and related areas. 
 Maintains an extensive, updated reference library of books, periodicals and videos, as well as memberships in professional and other societies such as the British and American Societies for Psychical Research, the Society for Scientific Exploration, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, The Monroe Institute (Professional Division), the Parapsychological Association, the Lucidity Institute, the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine & the Institute for Parapsychology (Rhine Research Center).  The library, unique in Cyprus, is accessible to serious researchers.
 Is available for presentations on various subjects.
  On request, selectively may investigate paranormal events.
  Sponsors lectures open to the public and free of charge (see "Ongoing Activities ").
  Organizes Hemi-Sync® courses for relaxation, well-being & self-discovery (see "Ongoing Activities " for more information).
  Prepares studies and reports on related matters for publication.

EXCURSION 1 workshop is designed to introduce progressive levels of relaxation (and much more!) by carefully controlled steps.
